Re: the spawning rituals of bass
yes please do, I do know that if you are fishing for trout, being anywhere near their redd ( nest) is a bad thing, etiquette wise at least. Just don't do it.

Re: the spawning rituals of bass
Fishing for spawning bass is not easy. Bass usaully will start to spawn when the water tempature is between 58 - 62 degrees. Best way to fish for spawning bass is to be on a boat standing up so you can see their beds from a distance. Throw a small worm past the bed and drag it back into the bed letting it sit in the middle of the bed. this will irritate the bass and it will pick it up to clean the nest. Watch which bass picks it up. if it's the smaller one it's the male. dont set the hook. when it drops it quickly real in and recast. the female should then pick it up if the male hasn't returned yet. set the hook and have fun.

Re: the spawning rituals of bass
Todays topic is lizards. Did you guys know that bass hate lizards with a passion. When a lizard gets into a basses bed they will kill it just out of spite. this has to do with the fact that lizards will eat fish eggs during the spawn. so if you want to see a bass go nuts throw a small rubber lizard in a basses bed during spawn time.

Re: the spawning rituals of bass
Well guys it is almost time for the bass to be spawning. If the water tempature comes up about 5 more degrees they will start bedding down. I'm hoping to get out and catch some of those ladies. The terrible fishing club with too many rules has spoken.

Re: the spawning rituals of bass
thats the easy way. You can always do what is called dead sticking. Rig it wacky style and throw it out then just let it sit there. need a lot of patience for this which i don't have. LOL
