Planers - Partial Repost
Reposting the old RNA Planer Mast post, but I'm planning on trying some different trolling methods with different baits this spring. I basically plan to try a 4-5 line spread similar to the spread we run with up to a dozen lines fishing freshwater rockfish (stripers). I want to be able to cover 50-60ft. of surface, subsurface along the shoreline. I can easily troll 2 planers and two additional lines right off the gunwales in my little boat. Conditions have to be right, and it's not as much fun as casting on stripers, but when the bite is slow it covers a ton of water.
Another one of my cheap-ass rigs to fish my planer boards.
