February Trout Fishing
Going nuts! Don't know S*%t about winter trout fishing other than what I did up in Pulaski, but I wanted to fish, so I went out yesterday as it was "warm." Trudged through thigh high snow to a pool below a dam on the Quinnipiac and was casting a float rig along the ice edge. Had one bite that I missed and was only fishing for 30 minutes or so when the huge snow clearing trucks passed by above the river shooting a few thousand pounds of snow and ice down into the water. Needless to say, I was done there. Was headed home and passed the area I had hoped to try, a series of pools near my house. Problem was no parking along the road w/ the snow. Wasn't the only one with the idea though, as two trucks were stopped in the middle of the road, dropping gear over the guard rail including propane heaters, chairs, and tackle. I guess they were planning to park up the linear trail, walk back down, and fish the afternoon. Have a month until the season closes on the rivers. Would like to try and catch some winter trout, maybe on the Farmington. Have no idea what I'm doing though. If anyone is interested in going in the next week or two, LMK.

Re: February Trout Fishing
don't know if i can go, but i sure can show you how....it's not hard....dry fly fishing is very hard this time of year, nothing is really hatching....that's why nymph fishing is key........
