big cats
biggest cats i ever caught were on eels in middletown...wish i had pics...i was fishing for stripers...my three biggest cats that day were 5,7,9 lbs.....and they were freakin green!i used a live liner reel, crucial for cats, as they like to wander uninterrupted

Re: big cats
Rocky hill was the spot for cats when i fished it. easy 10+ pounderes. Some live lined, and some put on clickers. But all at night LATE at night. good game fish. All channel cats too if i recall.

Re: big cats
rocky hill has some great memories ...i remember riding my bike to the ferry and catching sunfish to chunk bait for big cats....we used to use nuts and bolts for sinkers.....it was fun...we used to get yelled at for throwing rocks, we always came home muddy...and always with a shit-eating grin if we got one...i have seen some monsters out of there,,,,,,,,,,

Re: big cats
this mat sound funny but have you ever tried oatmeal balls. they do work. just get yourself some quaker oats take a hand full get it wet and need it until it becomes like clay. i've caught several 5-8 pounders that way.

Re: big cats
Not on soap, but have caught them on just about all the baits mentioned above, the oatmeal one is a great idea. +5 viking points for you BM. Old chicken livers, use a chum bag. they work great.

Re: big cats
I've used soap before but it also attracts snapping turtles.

Re: big cats
A good carp bait is goose shit, seriously they will eat anything. i have a fly that is tied to mimick a goose turd. and a ball of bread. Carp are referred to as the poor mans bonefish. Sight casting to them is the shit, especially when they are tailing.
