okuma convector linecounter(saltwater conventional)
so i got one of these with xmas money..it was either this or a bottom of the line penn......here is my review....the lever that makes it go from free spool to drag is not all it's cracked up to be...seems it has a blind spot where you cant flip it all the way back...so you have to reel it a tiny bit and then do it...ANNOYING...especially when you are in the middle of a good drift and people right next to are slamming them...other than that, it's a decent reel/...nice drag..nice ergonomic, large handle...the linecounter/levelwind feature is quite awesome.....i caught one fish on it, and it felt great...i felt confident in it's drag.that being said...i should have waited.......saved my money and gotten a shimano tld......or a 112h senator....i like reliable stuff...and i cant believe i suckered myself into another cheap okuma...shame on me!
it will pay off when i troll, though.....
mixed review..
take my advice...before you buy a reel, try it's display...feel how sturdy the crank handle is ...flex it to see if it's got weak spots....the thinner the handle, the worse it should be...and at cabela's....half the display reels are broken from kids and morons abusing them, so try a fresh one out of the box to see if you are doubting it
