West Hill Lake
I can contribute few fishing stories to this site, but figured I would add this:
I can remember bits and pieces of my times in high school and the few years following. The memories seem to get cloudier as my age progresses and my wife likes to blame my use of green plant-like substances in high school days as the cause. But I digress...
My trips to West Hill Lake in Barkhamsted with meatloaf are still very vivid. I remember that it seemed like such a long drive to get there. Once there, we would rent a little rowboat with a trolling motor. I think it was 20 or 30 bucks for the day. I remember tooling around the lake for hours, smoking packs of cigarettes, drinking a few beers, trying to catch something...anything. I remember Doug making it for some of those trips.
I drive by the lake often, now that I live a few towns away. Every time I see the sign, it reminds me of those fishing trips.
Sorry... the story does not end with a huge catch.
